March 29, 1964: Coast Guard Radio Traffic Requests CAP Alaskan Earthquake

On this day in 1964, the U.S. Coast Guard radioed an Alaskan community hit by a Good Friday  earthquake if their airport could accommodate Civil Air Patrol aircraft.

    CORDOVA CAP (CIVIL AIR PATROL) COULD LAND CHENEGA.
2.  EXTENT OF ASSISTANCE REQUIRED IN VALDEZ NOT YET DETERMINED.
